Tim and Dave are hanging out with the author and activist Brian McLaren this month. They’re chatting about Brian’s latest challenging and provocative book that explores the vital topic of Christianity's relationship with other religions. 

This month Tim and Dave are having a chat with author and missionary to the Middle East, Carl Medearis. Carl has some fascinating insights into cross-cultural mission from his years of working with Muslims, and he believes these principles are just as relevant in our Western context. Definitely an episode worth listening to (even if we do say so ourselves!). 

The boys are in London again, this time to chat with the professional artist Alastair Gordon. Ally is an accomplished artist who exhibits around the world, and who is also a follower of Jesus. Apparently following Jesus and being a professional artist is a rather tricky thing these days, so we spoke to Ally about this tension and what mission in the world of art might look like.

Tim and Dave are in Leeds this week talking with Andy McIntosh, professor of Thermodynamics and Combustion. Following on from our interview with Prof. Polkinghorne, we wanted to speak to someone with a different perspective on life, the universe and everything, and Andy is the man to do that. 

Nomad is back in Cambridge this month, this time to have a chat with Prof. Dr. Rev. Sir John Polkinghorne. John has spent more years than we’ve been alive inhabiting the world of science and faith, so we thought we’d ask him a few questions about life, the universe and everything. 

The boys are in Cambridge this month, hanging out with Matt Russell. Matt planted ‘Mercy Street’ about 15 years ago in the US, a church that grew to around a 1000, many of whom were recovering addicts. Needless to say, he’s got a very interesting story!

Chris Wright is on the podcast this month. Chris is an Old Testament scholar who reckons the biblical narrative only makes sense if mission is seen as its overarching theme. So we test this theory with him and ask him to explain some of the trickier OT stories.

The boys are off to Oxford this month to hang out with Pete Ward.

Pete wrote 'Liquid Church' about 10 years ago now, but it's a theory that has stuck around and influenced the views of many people interested in new forms of church. So Nomad thought they'd better find out a bit more.

This month Tim's leaving Dave at home and heading north with Hannah to Loyola Hall for a 5 day silent retreat.

Tim will be recording a daily reflection on his experiences and then at the end of the retreat will interview Ruth Holgate, the director of the centre, about the spirituality of silence.
